Archidian Music

The Ellington Project was founded in 1993 by G. A. Membré who has acted and continues to act as leader, arranger and pianst for the group. This group ranges from solo piano, to trio, quartet, quintet and sextet. The project's main focus is to bring the wonderful swing music of Duke Ellington and those influenced by him in smaller, more affordable ensembles that offer the spirit of a larger configuration.
The Ellington Project has performed at many venues around the Twin Cities, most notably, the Dakota Club, where it was recored live in 1994. The ensemble has also been featured on the Jazz Image with Leigh Kamman, the Morning Show on MPR, and the Minnesota Connection on KBEM.
